2014 Little League World Series Bracket

    The Playoff Bracket is Set!

By Deward Knapp 06/22/2016, 12:15am EDT

It is time to wrap up the season this Saturday... It is playoff time!

This Saturday, June 25th, 2016, is our annual Coach Pitch tournament day.

Come out and cheer on the players, coaches, and all of our Long Lake baseball families as the 7-8 year old division plays for all the post-season bragging rights.

The teams ended the regular season with these standings (seeding):

(You may also click on any of the teams to go to their respective team pages, which will show their confirmed game schedule for the playoff day, but note that games will be added for the winners as they progress through the bracket/day. So be sure to look at the overall schedule to plan your day accordingly.)

The playoff day is an old tradition for Long Lake Baseball & Softball Association.

It is part of the season and a required event for all teams.

This year, the bracket works like this:

    ---------------------------------------------

    9:30am Games -

    #4 vs #2 (Played on Field #1)

    &

    #5 vs #3 (Played on Field #3)

    ---------------------------------------------

    11:15am Game  (Field #1)

Winner from 9:30am #5/#3 on Field #3  vs  #1 Seed

    ---------------------------------------------

    1:15 Championship Game  (Field #1)

Winner of 9:30am #4 vs #2  vs Winner of 11:15am game

    ---------------------------------------------

The games will be officiated by Deward Knapp and Ella Stockfisch.  The rules will be played as stated here (with the exception of the requirements for teams to supply umpires):

Please note that we are particularly pointing out some important reminders directly from the rules below:

    FANS:

It is every fan’s right to cheer and support any player and/or team, keeping in mind the philosophy that our program is for the children, and their ability to enjoy this experience.
If anyone’s conduct should, in any way, dictate the outcome of a play or a game, by intimidating a player, team, coach or umpire, then it is in the children’s best interest that the game not continue.

    GENERAL GAME RULES:
    •     Games will be (5) five innings or (75) minutes long, whichever occurs first. The (75) minute time limit begins on the first pitch.
    •     If after (5) innings (or 75 minutes) the score is tied, the game ends in a tie.
      • FOR THE PLAYOFFS, GAMES CANNOT END IN A TIE.  EXTRA INNINGS WILL BE PLAYED IF REQUIRED TO DETERMINE A WINNER
    •     Coaches must pitch overhand from the pitching rubber. The pitching coach needs to remain standing and back foot must not be any closer than 40 ft to home plate when the pitch is released.*
    •     A player may only play the same position for two consecutive innings and then must be rotated to a new position.
    •     A player may only sit out of play for one inning and then must be rotated back onto the field.
    •     No negative chatter from either team.
    •     A batting order must be established before the game, and followed throughout the game.
    •     Play will stop when a defensive player has control of the ball within the infield, and any umpire has called “time."
    •     If the batter has not hit the ball into the field of play after (6) six pitches, they will be considered out, and asked to return to the dug out.
      • (If they foul-off the final pitch or are hit by the final pitch, they are awarded another final pitch.)
